Curlew calling

After several attempts I have managed to take a photograph of one of the curlews on our farm!

Lapwing chick

We have several lapwing chicks on our land now. Managed to take a photograph of this whilst on a walk round the fields - even though it was very well hidden in the grass!

Greylag geese

Went for a walk this afternoon around our fields and saw these geese.

Green Tourism’s GoldStar Awards 2013

Caldertop Cottage has been shortlisted for Green Tourism’s annual GOLDSTAR award in the category of Self-Catering to be presented during Green Tourism Week 4^th – 10^th Nov 2013. We represent the top 3% of green businesses in the UK and Ireland.

In order to select the winner of the award there is a judging process based on a questionnaire, references, review of our website, our last Green Tourism Report and finally a judging panel.

The winners will be announced at the first Green Tourism Conference to be held on Friday 8^th November in Bristol.

Winter returns

Although the snow drifts are beautiful to look at they do make life hard work. The road to the farm was blocked this morning with 6 foot snow drifts. Steve worked hard this afternoon to clear the road so that the cottage guests will hopefully be able to get here tomorrow.
